FEATURES:
• Backstage View
Microsoft
Office Home & Student 2010 has a new interface, called the Backstage view
which substitutes all the old menus in Office 2007. The term “Backstage” refers
to the place behind the stage where all behind the scene activities are
performed. In Microsoft Office Home & Student 2010, it is an interface
where all activities related to the documents are done before sharing and
saving. Tabs that can be accessed via this Backstage feature are categorized in
different groups where each tab displays relative data linked to it.
For example,
the info tab gives the user potentially personal information about that file
before sharing whereas the Help tab displays the Office product version and its
types.
The Backstage
view is like extendable wires where the user can also out
his/her own commands and tabs.
• File Tab
In the
earlier version of Microsoft Office, the file tab was a colored logo of
Microsoft. It was positioned on the upper left-hand corner of the windows; many
users had difficulty in analyzing the tab and thought it to be a decorative
symbol. In Microsoft Office Home & Student 2010, the developers have
changed the File tab and made it look similar to the other tabs.
• Paste Options Gallery
Microsoft
Office Home & Student 2010 is an updated version of Office 2007. Unlike the
Paste Special dialogue box in 2007, here in Microsoft Office Home & Student
2010, you have the Paste Options Gallery on the menu.
A totally new
feature has been introduced called the Live edit picture where the user can
edit and put filters or change borders on the image by just clicking on the
image itself.
• Some UI changes
1. The color scheme in Microsoft Office Home
& Student 2010 is Silver unlike blue in 2007.
2. The Microsoft Office Home & Student
2010 splash screen animates when the app we launched.
• Ribbon Customization

surface in Microsoft Office Home & Student 2010 can be edited. Users can
apply their own tabs, colors to the tabs and also hide or add tabs that are

• Document Co-Authoring
Microsoft
Office Home & Student 2010 introduces the Co-authoring feature in Excel and
OneNote and then later in Word also.
The backstage
feature keeps a track of how many users are opening the document and sharing
it. With the help of Document Co-Authoring, Microsoft Office Home & Student
2010 saves the number of users editing the document or sharing it. It is
visible by clicking a little icon on the top right-hand corner.
This feature
also allows the co-authors to view what the previous co-author had edited and
also the real version of the document.
• Click-to-Run
Office 10 has
presented a new feature in Microsoft Office Home & Student 2010 fashioned
on the Microsoft App-V streaming and virtualization technology which is
different from the old edition installation Wizards. This feature allows the
user to download Microsoft Office Home & Student 2010 and install it. The
other app data and information are downloaded in the background thereby minimizing
the time for installation.
• Graphics
1. Background Removal
This new
feature is synchronized within the picture tool. It allows the user to remove
any background from the images that have been inserted into the document.
2. Brightness Algorithms
Da Vinci
Brightness feature is a new addition which replaces the legacy algorithms in
Office 2007.

like an opened app without even saving the screenshot.
